Law / Decreto no. 109 of 26th April 2005 is a law which tightens up the “obligation to insure” for everybody who runs a business like:

Restaurant, Bar, Cafeteria, Public Communal Swimming Pool, Discothèque, Lecture Room or similar places with public access.

 

The sum insured is now determined by the Law:

 

From    

  0  to    50

persons in the local

- minimum 3rd party insurance

225.000,oo euros

From 

50  to  100

persons in the local

- minimum 3rd party insurance

375.000,oo euros

From

101 to  300

persons in the local

- minimum 3rd party insurance

526.000,oo euros

From

301 to  700

persons in the local

- minimum 3rd party insurance

901.000,oo euros

From

700 to   ???

persons in the local

- minimum 3rd party insurance

1.201.000,oo euros

 

Further this Law states that there will be an increased control from the Authorities, and a tightening up of “Responsibilidad Civil” which also must be adhered to in a court of law in case of an injury on a 3rd person.
